Business Development Manager in Fintech

Due to the dynamic environment and expanding market, a new opportunity is available for an ambitious, tech-curious Business Development Manager to join our growing business in the emerging Fintech and Payments sector. The successful Business Development Manager will work for our well-established London-based Payments business, engaged in money transfers, payment account, and Mastercard issuing, and keen to bring other payment instruments to its clients. Initially, the role will be remote.

What you have to do:

  • Manage the existing company partnerships and relationships while not being afraid to challenge them when needed and renegotiate when necessary,
  • Find and establish new partnerships to benefit our customers, negotiating the best deal possible,
  • Work closely with CEO and Operations Director on all contractual and commercial terms of new partnership agreements,
  • To work with the team to validate ideas and plug in the new solutions, 

    Represent the company and build the Opal Transfer brand in the payments industry via different forms of networking, online, offline, and attending the event while developing new contacts for future opportunities,

  • Know your industry and become a go-to person in the industry,
  • Identify new potential 3rd party payment providers in the EU or worldwide to open additional corridors for our clients' payments,
  • Analyse incoming approaches Opal receive from 3rd parties, progress those with potential, and decline those without,
  • Be on top of the market trends and industry developments, and ensure that Opal Transfer is at the forefront of those while keeping an eye on our competitors,
  • Bring in creative and brave ideas to spark innovation.  

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience in the development of B2B relationships,
  • Experience in the Banking and or payments industry, preferably Eastern European,
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set with positive energy and a pro-active approach,
  • Collaborative influencer getting things done,
  • Brilliant communication skills, connecting at all levels, both spoken and written,
  • Excellent commercial acumen, analytical skills, and commercial judgment,
  • Advanced negotiating skills of all aspects, including commercial and technical, and other abilities, are a must.
